My Miracles

I apologize for falling off the face of the blogosphere for the past couple of weeks... It's been crazy.  Beautifully and miraculously crazy.  Yesterday morning was my first ultrasound and that's when we got our first glimpse at our babies... yes, babies... we are having twins!

It's not even possible to express in writing what my feelings are since learning this news.  My heart hasn't felt such happiness in years.  It's hard to believe this is real.  I don't think it has really even sunk in just yet.

Of course, along with the happiness comes the fear and the worry.  But I'm trying to focus on everything but those feelings.  For so long I've focused on the negative and what I didn't have that I owe it to myself to enjoy this, for all that it is... for the two miracles that, my goodness, I already love with all of my being.

The symptom of severe nausea kicked in full force on Thanksgiving Day (I wasn't able to eat my mom's turkey dinner but instead laid on the couch never so happy and thankful to be missing out on a holiday meal).  I've battled the up-all-night and all day dry heaving until today, when I finally called my OB, who prescribed zofran.  One pill in and I already feel like a different person.

And as I write about my first real symptom of pregnancy, it's important to make note here that I'm not sure where this blog will take me at this point in time.  My heart is with so many of you who are reading, and to be honest, I'm not sure I ever intended to write beyond my infertility journey.  I also know that I have a very, very long way to go to the day (God willing) that I will take home two healthy babies.

God is so good.  And miracles do happen... I promise you... here are mine:

Wonderful! I've been waiting (im)patiently for this post! I really, really hope that you continue to blog, but that is my own selfish wants because you've found a special place in my heart and I want to continue following your story through pregnancy and into parenthood! With twins! I know what it feels like to be excited and petrified all at once. Congratulations to you and Nick. I am so very happy for you!!!

Ahhhhh!!!! I knew it! Ccrm is an amazing place isn't it!?!? I had twins from my first round of ivf there. Get a book called "when you're expecting twins, triplets and multiples" by Dr. Barbara Luke. I attribute the advice from the book to carrying my twins to 37 weeks

Also keep the blog going - we want to hear about your pregnancy!!

I am hoping and praying my absolute hardest that these little tiny babies continue to grow and thrive. On a sidenote, I'm really glad that your OB gave you some Zofran and you are feeling better. Cheers to you!

Twins! Welcome to the club. Sorry you also got the nausea to go with it. I took zofran, as well, but I'm not sure it helped me much (or maybe it did and without it I would have been puking).
I am so excited for you.

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!! What a blessing! I am extremely happy for you! This gives me hope just as I'm sure it does several other "fertility challenged" bloggers.

So happy to hear this wonderful news! Congratulations, and I'm so glad that the Zofran helped; I had a friend who had twins and joked about naming them Zoe and Fran (unfortunately/fortunately for them, they were both boys, so she nixed that idea). Celebrating and praying for you!

CONGRATS! So excited for you guys. Sorry for the belated comment! Hope the zofran is helping.

Praise God! I'm so happy for you! IVF pregnancies are so tough - we're so guarded and cautious and it's so so difficult to just let go and enjoy the ride. But do your best to just embrace it. You've come so far and have seen two heartbeats. That's a really really good start and I have a feeling this story will have a very happy ending!

Bren said...

YESsss!!! I am fist pumping for you from afar. This makes my heart so happy! Congratulations!!! And don't even think about not blogging anymore, now you have to blog double time!

Jessah @ Dreaming of Dimples said...

What a beautiful picture and an amazing blessing! I had so much hope and faith for your happy ending an you're on your my friend. It will really be a pain in your rear if you don't blog because I'll stalk you all the time via email for updates on your babes and pics. And then, well, you might as well just put them on your blog. ;)

This community is amazing, isn't it?

I initially missed your pregnancy announcement, because I was staying at my in-law's, who live in a place where THERE IS NO INTERNET ACCESS. The horror, right!?

But I am so, so excited to come back and find this. So many congratulations. And better yet. TWO BABIES. Twins. Welcome to the club, sisterfriend. I can't wait to watch you (and them) grow!!!!! I just posted about a thousand bump photos. I googled the heck out of "twin bumps" when I first learned I was having two, and I've never tired of looking at them!

Congrats again. We all know deserving has nothing to do with this, so I won't bother saying you deserve this (even though you do). :)

xo!
